Week 1: Simple Habits

Today is an easy day. All you need to do is to find some paper, an old notebook, something you can write in. If you want a nice neat book, great, but don’t make it complicated. You’re going to use this once a week for 15 minutes.

Day 1.
New Today:  Affirmation:  Think. Intend. Get Your Journal Ready. Affirm!
Today is an easy day.  All you need to do is to find some paper, an old notebook, something you can write in.  If you want a nice neat book, great, but don’t make it complicated.  You’re going to use this once a week for 15 minutes.
Then sit down and write for 15 minutes on the reasons you want to do this, the things you think will be difficult, the things you think will be easy. You could also save the paper and blog about it at GoGreenOnline.com!
Develop a simple affirmation that you can use each morning (for example:  I have new habits that will make a difference for the planet, my health, my family’s future and our budget.  Today I’m taking steps to make that real).  Stick that paper on your mirror.  Or on your rear view mirror!
That’s it.

Day 2.
Affirmation.
New Today:
Take along cup:  Today you’ll bring your take along cup, and/or a water bottle. Just throw it in your bag.  Make it a pretty one, or one with a lid, carry it proudly!  You’re part of the solution- show it off.

Day 3.
Affirmation.
Take along cup.
New Today: Shopping bags: Today, you’ll carry a folded up shopping bag in your regular bag for incidentals.  For incidentals, it can be anything- a canvas book bag, a cloth tote, or go all European and bring a basket.  As far as grocery bags go,  you can put a whole bunch of those reusable bags in the car if you have them.  If you don’t have them yet, you can get them the next time you go to the grocery.  Another option for now is just to put 3 or 4 or 5 regular paper grocery bags in the trunk of the car and reuse those.

Days 4 to 6:
Affirmation.
Take along cup.
Shopping bags.
New Today:  NOTHING!  Just keep doing that!   Just practice.

Day 7: Week 1 assessment: How’d you do?

Write about how it felt. What was easy, when was it hard?
