We heard loud and clear that one of the hardest things about making change was no direct feedback or incentives, so we designed a rewards system- it's fun, a little keeping score, a little carrot to strive for at the end of the day.
So, what do I get points for?
For learning.
If you play the Green IQ game, and you can play it over and over until you get everything right, you earn points.
For participating.
Every time you join a group that's aimed at learning, you earn points.
For buiding the green community.
When you invite people, and blog, or participate in forums, you earn points. When you create your local Going Green groups and invite your friends to GoGreen with you, you win.
For results.
Real declines in your waste, energy, and water use get rewarded big time (more to come on this)
And what can I do with these points?
We have a rewards store going live in a few weeks. It has products and premiums and coupons that you can exchange your points for. Like money. And trust me, it's stuff that you'll want.

Look on Your Profile Page.
Currently, Community Points are on your portrait page, and Learning points are on the MyPoints tab. These will be combined in our next release.
Can I pool points?
Yes, for families, school groups, anyone who's working toward a green item and wants to pool resources, you can gift your points. It will be a little manual for the time being.
