What's Really Green? Quality!

if you love a product, you will care for it and try to keep it for as long as possible.

In the west, for more than 50 years, manufacturing culture has engaged in "planned obsolescence"- a systematic attempt to create products that either physically break or wear out, or are worn out in the customer's mind through marketing newer, better versions.   Unfortunately, this practice has resulted in a lot of products that haven't been fundamentally improved (with better functionality, for example), but have only been restyled.

One of the core purchasing decisions you can make as you freshen up or redo your home is to reject poorly made or fad goods, and buy for the long haul.  We are big fans of Annie Leonard's short film, The Story of Stuff- it's definitely worth 20 minutes of your time.  Check it out below.
