Alternatives to Paper Wrapping
- Wrap in things that are reusable all year long: Fabric shopping bags, tshirts, dishtowels, hats, scarves, interesting containers like tins and cigar style boxes, baskets, lace bits and table toppers, saris- the list is endless
- Wrap in art that will be kept: Poetry written on rice paper or craft paper, drawings and wishes that unfild in layers, origami
- Make wrapping from existing paper sources: From magazines and newspapers and grocery bags, from old posters and photographs (especially for children, we like collage paper- a combination of grocery bags and magazine images that tell a story- it's a project in itself)
- Reuse: Use wrapping paper and bows you saved last year
Be creative, have fun, and decorate gifts with style, confidence and flair. Look for the beauty in everyday scrap materials. You'll be surprised at what you'll find.

Greener choices in traditional wrapping
If you simply can't give up the formal paper and bows, look for recycled papers. Paporganicsmakes environmentally sound paper, stationery and gift wrap from organic cotton, hemp and recycled fibers. The foil and flocked stuff is difficult to recyle, so try to avoid that at all costs.
